Here are some of the things discussed in our Newsletter:
- We will be holding an Intensive ABA Summer Camp so that we continue to provide safe, fun, and rewarding experiences that promote social and academic skills for each child. Our camp is for children ages 18 months-12 years of age. Our campers will receive their current hours of one-on-one ABA therapy. The remainder of the day, our campers will be grouped into cohorts of 3-4 children, based on age and skill level under the direction of our BCBA.
If you would like to receive more information or enroll your child, send us an e-mail: claudia@healtheworld.net
- We would like to thank all of those who joined us in the Walk Now for Autism Speaks event on April 6th and for your continued effort in raising Autism Awareness throughout April (Autism Awareness Month). Whether you made a donation, wore blue, informed someone about the signs, helped a child on the spectrum, attended a walk, or hosted an event, we thank you!!!
- A new study, led by researchers in London, Sweden, and the United States concluded that environmental factors are more important than previously thought in understanding the causes of autism-equally as important as genes. The new study is the largest and most comprehensive to date and estimates heritability of autism to be 50%, with the other 50% explained by non-heritable or environmental factors.
