OUR ABA THERAPY

Heal the World Behavioral Services provides quality behavioral services based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children diagnosed with Autism and related disorders.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the science of human behavior.  It is the scientifically validated approach to understanding how human behavior is affected by the environment.  Research in this area started in the early 1950s with the work of B.F. Skinner (Verbal Behavior, 1957).  Thus, ABA is the only therapy with more than 60 years of research demonstrating its various techniques and effectiveness in increasing socially significant behavior, while decreasing disruptive behaviors.

Our ABA programs are individualized for each child and implemented by professionals using the best teaching procedures. Our goal is to increase a child’s language repertoire and communication skills, while reducing disruptive behaviors. Our programs also address skill deficits in requesting, labeling, vocal and motor imitation, visual perceptual and matching skills, receptive skills, conversational skills, social skills, and play skills.

We begin ABA therapy by pairing ourselves with the child in order to create a fun and reinforcing environment for the child, free of demands. We then introduce program skills using our fast-paced teaching strategies, which enable the child to remain focused, learn the skills being taught, and receive a high level of reinforcement. We create an environment that promotes effective learning of academic and language skills and keep the child engaged at all times. We make learning an exciting routine in their lifestyle, so fun that the child does not even know that he/she is learning!

Our goal at Heal the World is to foster independence, generalization, and maintenance of all skills taught by enabling the child to perform these skills in various environments, with various people and under different conditions. Thus, parental involvement in sessions is highly recommended so that they learn effective ways of communicating with their child as well as ways to increase learning opportunities.
